Tennis best bets for the action at the Miami Open on Monday, March 27th

Christopher Eubanks vs. Gregoire Barrere
Eubanks is on quite the run in Florida right now. The American had to go through qualifiers to make the main draw, and he has since earned wins over Denis Kudla and Borna Coric. That last win was especially impressive for Eubanks, as he dropped the first set and was still able to come out on top —despite Coric being the 20th-ranked player in the world.
These are simply the right conditions for a player like Eubanks, as he has a massive serve and a quick-strike baseline game. These courts are very, very fast and that makes it hard to return his first serve. With that said, it’s hard not to like Eubanks to come out on top here, even if he must do it in a tiebreaker or two.
This also isn’t the first meeting between these two players. Eubanks beat him 7-6 (6), 6-7 (2), 7-6 (4) when the two met in US Open qualifers last year. That was also a hard-court match, but these conditions are a bit better for the American.

Bianca Andreescu vs. Ekaterina Alexandrova
Alexandrova is coming off a 2-0 win over Belinda Bencic, who has looked fantastic since the start of the 2023 season. But defeating this version of Andreescu is a whole different beast. Andreescu was once at the very top of the women’s game, as she is a former world No. 4 and won the 2019 US Open. Now, the Canadian appears to be restoring her place amongst the game’s elite, as she has run through Emma Raducanu, Maria Sakkari and Sofia Kenin in Miami thus far.
When she’s clicking, Andreescu just has one of the most complete games on tour, as not many opponents can touch her variety. After her win over Kenin, Andreescu said that she feels like she is a completely different person than she was in recent injury-filled seasons. That has to be scary for opponents to hear, and Alexandrova is likely her next victim.
It would take a player with a very strong serve to knock off Andreescu right now, as the Canadian has a break percentage of 35.4%. When somebody is putting that much pressure on your serve, it’s just very hard to win matches. And Andreescu really does seem to have an edge in every facet of the game in this matchup — and the odds reflect that, with the Canadian being a sizable moneyline favorite.
Instead of backing Andreescu to win, we’d play her to cover a 1.5-game spread. That’s really nothing over the course of a best-of-three match, and you’re getting a better price on it.
