Lamar Jackson’s Next Team Odds
Odds according to PointsBet. This market is only available in Colorado, Illinois and Maryland. All bets void if Jackson remains a Raven.
Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has officially issued a trade request, and the odds on where he’ll land next have been released.
The Colts are far-and-away favorites at +225, implying odds of about 30.8% that Jackson becomes Indianapolis’ new starting quarterback.
Indy has the fourth pick in this year’s NFL draft and figures to fire on one of Ohio State quarterback CJ Stroud, Alabama quarterback Bryce Young or Kentucky quarterback Will Levis.
A trade for Jackson would indicate a pivot from those plans.
The Patriots are second-best favorites at +450, which implies odds of 18% that Bill Belichick will trade for the quarterback he passed up via the draft in 2018.
After a Pro Bowl-caliber rookie season, Mac Jones regressed heavily and put his job in jeopardy several times. Belichick has yet to pencil him in as the starter, and there’s a chance the Patriots look for outside help for the sport’s most important position.
The Falcons (+600) and Bucs (+800) are also in dire need of long-term quarterback stability. Tampa signed Baker Mayfield to serve as a stopgap after Tom Brady’s retirement. And Atlanta will roll with second-year man Desmond Ridder at the helm despite a shaky rookie season.
Do note that this market is only available at PointsBet in the states of Colorado, Illinois and Maryland due to regulatory restrictions.
The only other reasonable options are the Commanders (+1000) and Titans (+1000), but it would require elaborate salary cap gymnastics from both organizations to pull off a move.
Washington has very limited room left and seem resigned to trotting out Jacoby Brissett or Sam Howell next year. They’d have to restructure at least four existing deals in order to make this trade work.
Meanwhile, the Titans would have to find a way to rid of Ryan Tannehill to make a trade for Jackson.
Keeping Tannehill would mean an $18 million dead cap hit this season — and render a Jackson trade nearly impossible. You’d be hard-pressed to find a team across the league willing to make a trade for Tannehill and his massive contract.
The Jets (+900), Panthers (+1000), Dolphins (+1000) and 49ers (+1500) all have impending or existing options at quarterback that would make a trade unlikely.
