Corach Rambler Grand National Odds 2023: Aintree Favourite

The Corach Rambler Grand National odds for 2023 sees the recent Cheltenham Festival winner as one of the favourites, as he looks to give trainer Lucinda Russell her second win in the world-famous steeplechase.

Corach Rambler Grand National Odds: Early Aintree Favourite to Follow Up Cheltenham Win

Since winning the Ultima Handicap Chase for a second year-in-a-row at the Cheltenham Festival, Corach Rambler has shot to the head of the Grand National betting market.

One of the reasons being is that if the handicapper could assess him again, he’d probably give Corach Rambler more weight. However, with the Grand National weights set in stone from 21st February, the Lucinda Russell runner has a ‘locked-in’ rating of 146 and is set to carry just 10st 5lbs.

You can back CORACH RAMBLER for the 2023 Grand National at 6/1 – you can support him here and also get the best Grand National betting offers.

Corach Rambler Has a Big Grand National Trend to Defy?

Corach Rambler’s style of racing also sees him preferred to be held-up and come through horses. But this way of racing might come with its own problems in the Grand National. With 39 other horses and a lot of these likely to be in front of him – then he’s going to have to be on high-alert to dodge and fallers.

The other factor for jockey Derek Fox is the horse also tends to idle a bit as soon as he hits the front. Yes, he loves picking horses off and running through the field, but as soon as he’s got no horses left to pass – he’s had a habit of wandering about.

With this in mind, if in with a shout come the Elbow, Fox might have to play it cool.

With 4 career wins from 9 runs, this sort of backs this up – he seems to either win or bomb out.

However, there is also a key Grand National trend that Corach Rambler will need to overcome. It seems odd saying it – but being a recent Cheltenham Festival winner is actually a negative.

Only three horses since 1961 that won at the Cheltenham Festival went into win the Grand National in the same season.

What Weight Will Corach Rambler Carry In The 2023 Grand National?

The better news for Corach Rambler fans is that he’s got a featherweight of just 10st 5lbs. A massive 89% of the last 19 Grand National winners carried 11st 5lbs or less in weight, while since 1989 we’ve had 18 winners carry 1ost 7lbs or less.

Trainer Lucinda Russell and Jockey Derek Fox Have Past National Winning Form

Corach Rambler also hails from a proven Grand National-winning yard and will have a jockey that’s won the race riding too.

In 2017, the Lucinda Russell stable and jockey Derek Fox teamed-up to win the world’s greatest steeplechase with One For Arthur.

The horse sadly recently died from colic on 24th March 2023. Therefore, the Russell camp will be keen to win this famous race again in his honour.

And the National does have a habit of throwing up a story or two!
